Most of us go through life thinking that God is only interested in so called ‘Good People’. People that have it all together. People who never make any mistakes, never give in to temptation. If your performance is good enough then you can expect Gods goodness. But if we don’t measure up, this leads us to feel guilty, condemned and utterly miserable. We feel that we have failed and that we are not worthy of Gods goodness and grace.
This is a lie creating a very powerful illusion to stop us from seeking God for His help. This can cause us to have very low self esteem and to eventually give up – Just as the enemy wants!
Some of us have been lied to more than others. People with addictions to drugs, alcohol, pornography, prostitution are looked down upon by the world and made to feel like so called ‘Bad People’. People that don’t deserve Gods goodness and grace. As a result they feel condemned and far away from God. If you who are reading this fall into a similiar category then let me tell you.
Wake up! You are being lied to! The truth is God is not mad at you, God wants you to come to Him no matter what!
The accuser will always tell you
“You can’t ask God to help you, you made the mess. You went the wrong way, you were unfaithful, look what you did to that poor person, look at how you’ve changed the lives of the people around you. How can you expect Gods mercy and grace when you are that type of person living the way you do?
The enemy does this to keep you away from God. Making you feel that you do not deserve Gods mercy and grace. Giving you feelings of inferiority, inadequacy and a sense of not measuring up. It seeks to take your eyes off Jesus and focus only on your shortcomings and failures.
The enemy will use this to distract and paralyze you.
But the beauty of mercy is that even when we go the wrong way God doesn’t say …
“Too bad, you had your chance, now you’re on your own”
No instead God will not only get you out of trouble but he’ll go even further and clean up the mess you’ve made. Gods mercy is bigger than any mistake, any failure any problem that you’ve made.
You do not need to go around living a miserable life weighed down by guilt because of your sins and failures. Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour has already dealt with our sins, past, present and future. Jesus took our sins upon Himself and we are now righteous in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.
So when the accuser next tells you …
“Its your own fault. You brought this trouble upon yourself. Who do you think you are?”
Just answer back…
“I’m a child of the most High God!”
No matter what mess your life is or what situation you’re in. God wants you to come to Him boldly with this attitude….
“Lord I don’t deserve it, I went the wrong way but I still believe that you will bless me, you’ll show me favour and I believe I can become who you have created me to be.”
Your situation may seem like it will never turn out right. The mess too big to clean up. But nothing is impossible with God. No problem, no addiction, no failure is too big for our God. He created the universe. He flung stars into space. We are His creation and God is in full control. Whatever is holding you back right now, the dysfunction, the addiction, the lifestyle you lead. God can end it all in a split second and set you free. Not only will He clean up your mess but you will come out better than you were ever before.
Whatever situation you’re in. Whatever mistake you’ve made. You cannot escape from Gods mercy. He will always be there, waiting for you, calling your name!
No God will always give you another chance….and another chance…and another chance and always another chance to fulfil the best plan He has for your life. It is never too late to become who God has created you to be.
Diana Mendiola lived a sad, poor and difficult life that led her to become a prostitute and transport drugs. She always wanted to escape from the situation she was in but didn’t know how.
But it took just one look, one look to Jesus and her whole life changed!
She is now the founder of 14 churches. She is a singer, author, evangelist and pastor of Christian Temple Church El Refugio in Capitol Heights, MD. Her passion to spread the word of God has led her to speak at conferences and preach throughout the world, record several albums and pen a tell-all book about her life, “From Darkness To Light.”
So like Diana Mendiola you too can put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, to be born again with all your sins washed away, never to be remembered or brought up again by God.
How do you receive the free gift of Jesus Christ?
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – Acts 16:31.
If you would like to accept Jesus’ free gift and become a child of God, you can pray this prayer of salvation now.
“Lord Jesus, I need you. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I ask forgiveness for my sins and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for giving me the gift of eternal life. I want to turn and live a new life with you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.”
Once you have prayed the prayer of salvation you are now saved and you are a child of Christ.
You may not feel any different and you will continue to sin. This is because it takes time for The Lord to work within us and to change us. But the fact of the matter is you are now a child of Christ and all of your sins, past, present and future are now washed clean.
The key is look to Jesus no matter what, despite your past, present and future sins you are righteous in Gods eyes because Jesus took your sins upon Himself. You may feel condemned and not worthy to have a relationship with the Lord. The Lord wants you to turn to Him regardless. You may have committed a sin 10 seconds ago. You might be in a very dark place. The key is to ‘Look to Jesus’, always look to Jesus, no matter what and He will use His supernatural power to change you.
When Jesus cursed the fig tree, it looked the same and the leaves were still green but the next day they were brown. When you look to Jesus, you may appear the same, you may still continue to behave in the same way, but something has happened, you may not see it , but something has happened….from the very roots. So look to Jesus…
You cannot look to Jesus and remain the same!
How do I look to Jesus?
By thinking of Him and believing that He died for your sins and praying to Him everyday.
But I’m not sure if I really believe in Jesus?
The Lord has infinite grace and by acknowledging Him you will come to believe in Him.
How do I acknowledge Him?
By saying this very simple prayer everyday. Below is a quick prayer that requires only 1 minute of your time each day. It may not seem much but by just spending a minute of your time each day, speaking out this prayer, despite how bad you feel about yourself!…You are saved! That is all you need to do and The Lord will do the rest. He will open up supernatural doors to change you! Just say this prayer every day and you’ll be amazed! Just like he did for Diana Mendiola the Lord will go to work in your life.
I know that I’m living in darkness and a sinner and I know that I cannot change without your help. I want to be saved Lord and I want to go to Heaven, but I cannot seem to find a way out of my situation. I want to believe in you but I don’t know how.
You are The Lord of Lords and The King of Kings! and nothing is impossible with you. Despite my life and the way I am I look to you Lord Jesus. Just like the fig tree I know you can change me Lord from inside and out.
It seems like a very simple task to do but you’ll be amazed at how difficult it is just to spend a minute of your time every day reciting a couple of paragraphs. Remember the enemy does not want you to read those paragraphs. he will make you aware of your shortcomings, he will make you feel inadequate and not worthy to be in the Lords presence. Don’t believe those lies! He will put obstacles in your way.
Its time to get aggressive with the enemy!
He’s ruined your life up to now! It’s time to stand up and condemn the enemy in the name of Jesus! Cast him out and say that minute of prayer in Jesus name Amen!
“There remains only Jesus…Jesus alone. How good is His mysterious love…And in me He finds nothing but weakness, misery and sins, yet He loves me, loves me so much!” – Words of St Gemma Galgani
